HHM -- Hello! Do You Remember Me?

It's been......um......a year and a half since I posted for HHM.  I know right, way too long.  I've been around, just VLOGging on YouTube all the time instead of Blogging here.  Thanks for stopping by.  I'm hoping to make this more of a habit again.

As I look outside my window:::

The sun is shining and there is a little breeze.  Today's high is 88 and tonight's low 70

Right now I am:::

Standing here at the computer/POS watching customers and answering their questions.

Currently Reading:::
It's been a while since I've read a book.......

Watch List for this week:::
I recently discovered Pluto TV and Roku apps on my phone and tablet. Both have free content to watch.  I've been watching Unsolved Mysteries and Crime Network and Forensic Files on Pluto TV.  I just discovered Roku yesterday and am watching Season 1 of Bomb Girls

On my to do list today:::

1. Return Calls from yesterday
2. make grocery for tonight's supper
3.  I brought knitting to work on but it's not made it out of the bag yet.

Today's Lunch:::
Jalapeno Cheddar sausages, sweet iced tea and a cookie

Tonight's Supper:::
Hamburger Strognoff with bread and butter and Blueberry Lemonade (both new recipes)

Preparing for Summer weather:::
Actually it hasn't been too bad so far.  There are a few things I would like to do just haven't needed to do them yet. We have been using fans to keep us cool.  Still no need for AC at home.

What I am crocheting/knitting:::
Well.....I'm working on finishing up a tunisian crochet cross stitch USA bunting, I have a loom kit scarf in the works and a knit stocking hat.

What I am wearing today:::
Jean shorts, tye-dye t-shirt and tennis shoes and my hair in a pony tail.

From the VLOG:::
Check out my latest YouTube Vlog (although the deal has expired, and I haven't made another video yet)

Something I Recently Made:::

I'm joining Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for HHM.  Go visit her and the rest of those who have joined in.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting.

Tunisian in the Round Hat Bottom Up ~~ My Personal Pattern

Here is my pattern for my Tunisian In the Round Bottom Up stocking hat.  This pattern will fit a child/teen/small adult.  As I work the pattern for different sizes I will add additional patterns. I am new to writing tunisian patterns, so if you have any questions please leave a comment.  Please do not sell or distribute this pattern as your own or take credit for my creativity.

You will need:
This pattern uses the chain stitch, Tunisian Purl and Tunisian Simple Stitch.  This pattern also is written as if you are already familiar with using a double end Tunisian hook.

2 colors of your favorite worsted weight yarn.  I recommend Red Heart Super Saver yarn (it's made in the USA)

A size H double ended tunisian crochet hook.  I use and recommend this Clover Tunisian Double End H Hook

A regular Crochet Hook size I.  I recommend this Boye aluminum I hook

You will also need scissors, a stitch marker of some sort (I like using a contrasting color of scrap yarn) and a yarn needle for weaving in ends.

step 1:  With both colors and the regular size I hook, chain 80

step 2: decide which color you want your vertical bar stitch to be and pull up a loop in each chain stitch (I don't use the back "hump" of the chain for this pattern, but you could if you want to)  until you have several loops on your hook.  Flip hook and pull the remaining loop through the first vertical hook (do not chain for this stitch) and continue as your normally would with your return stitch, leaving 2 loops (of your vertical bar color) on your hook.  Flip the hook and continue until you reach the end of your chain.

Step 3: Once you reach the end of your starting chain you are going to start the "In the round" process.  I like doing a 2 by 2 ribbing. Making sure your chain/tss base isn't twisted, join with a *TSS in the first and second vertical bars.  TPS in the next 2 vertical bars*.  Continue this pattern until you have several loops on your hook.  Flip hook and continue your return stitch as normal.  You should end with 2 TPS for this row.  Place your contrasting yarn stitch marker between the last TPS and the first TSS of row 2 of the ribbing.  Continue around between the ** and moving your stitch marker each time until you have about 2 inches of ribbing.  For me that is about 4 rows.

Step 4: This is the easy part LOL! TSS all the way around until your TSS section is about 4 1/2 inches tall or the hat measures 6 inches from chain to top of your last TSS row.

Step 5: once your hat reaches 6 inches, you start your decrease.  I find it easier to count my decrease stitches.  You will be decreasing every 8 stitches the first row, 7 the second, 6 the third, and so on until you have 4 stitches on your hook.  At this time you will do the standard tunisian bind off with your return color yarn.  Snip both colors leaving enough return color to close off the top and the vertical bar color long enough to tie together with the return color (on the inside of the hat).

Step 6: tie your beginning strings together and weave them in.  Your hat should be finished.

Totally confused?  I will be making a "Crochet With Me" video (not a tutorial as I haven't quite figured out a good camera set up for that yet)  soon to help explain each step. I will upload it to my  YouTube channel .  Go check it out and subscribe so you get notification when I do upload that video.
