Mission Accomplished! Closet Part 1

One more mission accomplished.  I still have another mission to accomplish, like a part 2 of this, but that will have to be another post because right now I don't have the money to complete the task.

Hubby and I have a wardrobe like thing that I have been stuffing  attempting to fold and put our clothes in because I didn't have enough hangers to hang up all our [work] t-shirts and my skirts.  SO.....since we have an overabundance of hangers at the shop (since we don't have neat as many t-shirts for sale as we used to) we brought some home.  I have all the shirts and my skirts hung up in the closet.  Jeans, shorts and underthings are folded and put in the wardrobe thing.  Watch for part 2 of this mission when I am able to get rid of the wardrobe thing and get some of those plastic storage drawers.

Sorry, no picture.  I just can't make myself take a picture of my closet yet because it's not neat & tidy.  There are still things stacked in there.  Maybe when I complete part 2 of this mission.

Wanna Dance?

Hubby asked me that question here a few days back.  We can't remember the last time we danced.  We have our special song.  Ours is Heaven by Warrent.  It's been our song for 24 years.  Funny thing it wasn't one we had sung or played at our wedding though.  Anyway, it was a special moment, made my  eyes wet.

Everyone says they have the best husbands, but you know what.  I think I have the best husband!  I would be so lost without him. We are a perfect match, made in heaven.

We didn't go to the same high school, so we never danced together until a few yeas AFTER high school.  The first time we danced to this song was in May 1990.  I will never forget that evening.  One of the best moments of my life.

Do you have a special song?

Mission Accomplished! Another Duct Tape Craft

Some tine back I made a pouch for my old phone.....now mini tablet, and a pouch for my ear buds and etc.  I found another roll of the sparkly blue duct tape that wasn't used yet, and made a kindle pouch. My purse is starting to be a bit more organized now.

I'm still no professional duct tape crafter, but so far things have worked and I LOVE the sparkly blue tape.  When I get some more money I'm going to get some more designer duct tape and make a few more things to organize my purse a little more.

Happy Homemaker Monday ~~ 7/28/2014

It was another abnormal week for us, our arcade/soda shop was still closed due to different  issues, SO.....we were lost all week again.  LOL!  We will try again and hopefully we can be open next week at the latest.  This week has not been very enjoyable!   I still get more accomplished, but what I am doing at home isn't going to pay the bills come the first of the month.

Someone mentioned last week that HHM is the highlight to their Monday.  I think it is mine too.  HHM is the one post I DO get up nearly every week, even if I don't have time to post anything else.    Enjoy and thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to leave me a comment.  I will be linking up with Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.  (link will be at the bottom of this post)  I also typed this up for Sunday, since I have a big rearrange project going on at the shop.  Still have lots to do and don't really want to waste any time.  Usually when I do this we are busier.  LOL!  Also I added a new line....."I'm thankful for....."  I spend too much of my time griping and complaining about stuff, I need to be more thankful for the little things.

The weather outside today is:::: Today was HOT, then it rained, it got HUMID, and finally by evening it started cooling off.  Looks like this week will be cooler than last week.

Looking outside::::  Right now it's dark, and the curtains are closed.

Thinking and pondering::::  Feeling accomplished because I have scheduled posts ready to go for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week.

I'm thankful for:::: The oldest boy moving back to town.  :-)

Breakfast time, what is on the plate this morning::::  No breakfast on Sunday, but we got a quick lunch at Taco Mayo because we were helping the Oldest move back to town.

Looking around the house::::  Not too shabby!  It has it's spots....the dirty dishes from supper, and the floor needs vacuumed.

On today's to do list at home::::  Today I folded the towels, put the dry dishes from the other day away, washed a few that were in the sink, and swapped out one of the litter boxes.

Currently reading::::  I  finished reading Dear America: A Journey to the New World, and started reading  Safe by the Marshal's Side (Witness Protection Book 1)

Watching on the Computer today/this past week::::  Switched at Birth this week!  You can watch it at 7 central on ABC Family.  If you don't get ABC Family, you can watch last week's episode HERE.

We also watched Young Guns together as a family this past week.
I watched Expecting Amish which was really good!
I also watched S1 E1 of WKRP in Cincinnati .  For some reason the theme song has been going through my head for several days.  LOL!

I highly recommend AdBlock via Chrome Extension if you are going to watch online episodes.   AdBlock seems to do the trick and prevents most if not all pop-ups.  You can enable it and disable it as needed.

On the menu this past week::::
Monday I honestly can't remember what we ate on Monday/  *sigh*
Tuesday We had Steve's "famous" salad
Wednesday We ate at a BBQ place in town
Thursday  we ate leftovers from last night, and I made homemade chocolate chip cookies
Friday hubby and I went out.  we did a lot of brainstorming while we were out on our date.
Saturday  Took advantage of hopefully the LAST all you can eat shrimp night for a while.
Sunday  Hamburgers with the works, and chips & dip

All week, once again we have been in limbo and eating at home more than usual.  Not a normal thing.......Hopefully we only have 1 more week, if that long to be doing this.  We need to get back open and make some money!

If I have a few minutes to myself this week, I will::::  Visit some of my favorite blogs and maybe a few new ones

New recipe I tried, or want to try this week::::  Not a new recipe, but I DID make homemade chocolate chip cookies this past week.  They lasted us 2 days and 1 evening.  We sure went through that 3 dozen cookies pretty quick.  LOL!

Favorite photo from the camera::::
Nothing is better than a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies!

Visiting with blog friends (blog you want to share, blog post that caught your eye):::: Some blogs I still can't seem to leave comments.  *sigh*  Not sure what setting(s) are not allowing me to do so on blogger or maybe it's Chrome.   *sigh*  I try to visit all of you in the sidebar at least once a week.

Praying for::::  To be back open super soon.  We hope to be open by Friday, if not sooner.  We are looking into possibly getting a different building and some land next to it.  The price is right and we are somewhat familiar with the building (hubby has done some lock work there a few times), and it's just the right size with room to expand.   SO this means if this works out, we won't technically be moving everything, just moving one of the businesses.  It will keep us in town.

Mission Accomplished! Laundry

Probably not a big deal for you but last night I got Hubby's and my laundry washed, dried, and PUT AWAY!  We won't be living out of clothes baskets this week 😊

Mission Accomplished! Reducing Summer Heat

I think this is kind of a silly mission but it's what works now!  The kitchen window didn't have any curtain at all covering the top half.  It wasn't a big deal because it let in light and wasn't where anyone could see it, thanks to the air conditioner (which cools the whole house by the way) and the fact it's up higher on the house..  When the summer heat started making the house warm, I grabbed an older towel and nailed (yes nailed) it on the window frame.  It helps block the morning sun and keeps the house cooler.  It's thin enough that it also lets in some light in the morning, and usually turning on the light isn't necessary.

More recently I did a similar thing to one of the windows in the livingroom.  It also faces east.  My issue is that it IS lower to the ground and very easy to see in.  I don't like the idea of anyone being able to see into my house without my permission (like having the curtains open by choice), but the cats like sunshine and laying in the window with the curtains that were there, just left a gaping curtain after they were done, until we got home.  SO......I took down the curtain that was there and took down the blind, which was badly torn up.  I nailed (yes nailed again) another old towel, like the one in the kitchen, across the bottom of the window frame.  The cats can get in the window and look out and enjoy the sunshine, but when they are done, the curtain closes behind them.  I took the blind from the west window in the bedroom and put it in this window.  It can be opened or closed to cover he top of the window. It lets in more morning light and sunshine for the cats, but also will block some of that morning heat.

Now, in the bedroom, the west window I took the blind from.  I took the curtain from the livingroom  window and nailed (yes I did it one more time) it to the wall just above the window frame.  The curtains are a little long and I don't want to trip over them at night.  Also, to help block the heat and sun, I can lean the door (we can't hang it because the jam has been damaged *sigh*) up in the window and it helps block more sun and aftenoon/evening heat.

I know it's nothing fancy, but I am making do with what I have right now.

Reheating Ribs

Since moving back to our house, we no longer have a microwave to cook or reheat food. Learning to reheat foods is a new thing for me.  Thought I'd share my success (and any not so successful) attempts.  Probably won't be many as we don't eat a lot at home, or I simply state that it will be cold.

Went out for supper at a local BBQ place (not our regular one but a different one), that recently opened and has had many good things said about them,  since we aren't open yet at our other business. Hubby brought home some leftover ribs home.

Tonight he wanted to finish the ribs, so I put them in a glass dish with some water and covered it with foil. I baked them at 400° until they were hot. I didn't time it, sorry. I was doing other things and was going by smell. ☺. Going by text message received about the time I got started I'm estimating it was about 30 minutes in the oven.  Hubby said they were moist and very good.

Even I took a couple bites (I'm not big on meat) and thought it was pretty good.

Happy Homemaker Monday ~~ 7/21/2014

It wasn't a normal week for us, our arcade/soda shop was closed due to some plumbing issues, SO.....we were lost all week.  LOL!  Hopefully we will be open early next week, Say Tuesday or Wednesday.  We should be Friday for sure.  Honestly I have to say having the time off has been very enjoyable!   I have gotten a lot accomplished that I normally wouldn't have time to do, or want to do after working 14ish hours a day.

Sandra switched up the topics.....I kept some of the old and added some of the new.  I liked some of the old, but also some just didn't apply to me, and some of the old did.  Enjoy and thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to leave me a comment.  I will be linking up with Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.

The weather outside today is::::  Since I am writing this up Sunday afternoon (getting a head start I am ;-) ).....the weather is still beautiful!  Last week was a cooler week, so we turned the AC off at home and enjoyed windows open and the fans going (they always run).  Today was a little warmer, but still not warm enough for the AC.  This week is supposed to start warming up again, so I bet by the end of the week we have the AC back on.

Looking outside::::  It's a beautiful day!  I'm sitting in living-room, in my my rocker.  Both the windows and the front door is open.  From where I am sitting I can't see much from the front door....just some branches blowing in the breeze.  About 4 feet over is the window in the front, I can see 2 of the 3 vehicles we have [at the house] parked.  The other window, Fuzzy is laying there napping and enjoying it being open.  I can also see the gate to the back yard and a bush blowing in the breeze.

Thinking and pondering::::  Do I really want to move?  It's not like we HAVE to move.  We just want to go/do something different.  We have lived here 21 years next month.

Breakfast time, what is on the plate this morning::::  Since we don't eat breakfast on Sunday mornings....lunch is our breakfast.  We had sandwiches and chips and Pepsi.  Eating more so we don't have to toss anything,

Looking around the house::::  This is the cleanest it's been in a long time!  It still isn't a "Better Homes & Gardens" featured house, but it's clean.

On today's to do list at home::::  Today I cleaned litter boxes.  I need to run and get more litter so I can finish up.  There are towels and clean clothes that need folded and put away, but the basked might have to do again.  LOL!

Currently reading::::  I'm almost finished reading Dear America: A Journey to the New World.  Don't know what I will pick up next.  Maybe another Dear America book.  I think I've read almost all of them back when the boys were little, well all the ones that were out when we were going to the library every week or so.  LOL!  They are easy to read, educational, and entertaining.

Watching on the Computer today/this past week::::  Switched at Birth this week!  You can watch it at 7 central on ABC Family.  If you don't get ABC Family, you can watch last week's episode HERE.

I usually Watch on "vidbul" , and  I highly recommend AdBlock via Chrome Extension if you are going to watch online episodes.  I got an "eye-full" this week  AdBlock seems to do the trick and prevents pop-ups.  You can enable it and disable it as needed.

On the menu this past week::::
Monday (this was a normal day for us) we were originally supposed to go look at a commercial building, but it went under contract, so we went out of town anyway (to the town we were going to look) and ate at Mazzio's
Tuesday was a stressful day.... so tonight we got some deli chicken from a local gas station (it wasn't very good) and sat on our front porch to eat it.
Wednesday after I had cleaned house for about an hour hubby treated us to the best steak house in the area (our opinion it's the best anyway)
Thursday  we had homemade pizza.  I made a pepperoni and a chicken club.
Friday we had homemade pizza again.  We had a Chicken with grilled onions and jalapenos, and I also made a pepperoni pizza.
Saturday we took advantage of having a Saturday night off and went back to our favorite steak house so hubby could enjoy the "all you can eat shrimp" night.
Sunday we ate sandwiches for lunch, and lasagna for supper.

All week, since Tuesday, we have been trying to eat stuff from our business so we don't have to toss it.  I think we have done pretty good at getting it eaten.  There is very little left, so there will be little if any waste.

If I have a few minutes to myself this week, I will::::  Read or watch something on the computer

New recipe I tried, or want to try this week::::  Well....since we were home all week and I actually had the opportunity to make meals, I made some bacon cinnamon rolls.  I had seen them either on Facebook or Pinterest some time back.  I had the canned cinnamon rolls already, and we had pre-cooked bacon we brought home, so I tried it.  I need to try again because I put them in the oven after the pizza, and the oven was too hot, and I forgot to turn it back to "bake", so they were a little brown on top and doughy in the middle.  Every agreed that had they been cooked all the way they would have been pretty darn good.  SO, some day I will try again to make this.

Favorite photo from the camera::::  No photo this week

Visiting with blog friends (blog you want to share, blog post that caught your eye)::::  I really enjoyed visiting around on the Homemaking Meme this week.  Some blogs I couldn't seem to leave comments.  *sigh*

Praying for::::  To be back open super soon and make up in business we have lost over the last week.

Mission Accomplished! Finally Cleaned House

Not that we are too happy about the situation, but Tuesday afternoon we had to close down the arcade/soda shop for a few days while the landlord fixes some plumbing issues.  Hopefully it gets fixed quickly. God is in control of the situation so I'm trying my best not to worry.  I think he knew we needed some time off so he created the situation.

We are so lost not having anything to do in the evening. We are so used to working and getting home late.  What to do? What to do?

Tuesday night we watched "Mars Attacks! ".

Wednesday I cleaned house. Its no where near perfect, but it sure looked and smelled so much better.  I had that feeling of accomplishment I mentioned in the homemaking meme the other day.

Last night we played a new (to us) card game called Panjandrum  (slow loading page.....scroll down to page 18/19 for the rules for the game we played).  It is kind of a cross between solitare and war.  I also did some more cleaning, and actually have a clean kitchen for Friday.

Wonder what we will do tonight.....it is Friday night.

AT&T cell service and Alcatel GoPhone review

We pondered the change for 9 moths give or take.  It's a scary thing to change a business phone over to a pre-paid [dumb] cell phone, but for a savings of $115 a month?  Who could resist?  We don't use and haven't used AT&T for anything but internet (a log time ago) and landline service (both home and business, but business the longest).  Being a business phone, we didn't want to change numbers, and we didn't want any interruption in service.  I was promised (I know one of the ladies that works at the AT&T store here) that there would be no interruption.  The 2 main things that kept us from switching sooner was #1 the talk or horrible service by everyone we asked (friend and people we didn't know), and #2 what about fax machine and credit card processing.  Credit card processing wasn't a big deal, we also do payday loans, so we just hooked up the machine to that line.  For faxing, we can only receive faxes on the payday loan from non loan numbers.  (We can send faxes to the loan place though).  I found an app for my old smart phone (now tablet) called CamScanner.  It works great, and I can send the scanned documents to e-mail and then pass them on to the respective party.  Most service providers, so far, have been happy to correspond via e-mail, when I tell them we no longer have a fax machine.

Anyway......I decided to get an Alcatel phone.  It's promoted as being a messaging phone.  It has web access but like you can see anything on the screen.  LOL!  I've tried to use the web feature, and quite honestly it's a joke.  Mostly it's used for phone, and some texting, although I don't text a lot anymore.  Most texting is done through, Text Now, a  Free Text app, on my old phone, over WiFi.

Now on to the review:

We have had and used this pre-paid phone for a little over a month now.  My overall opinion of the AT& T cell service is way better than I thought it would be.  I don't think we have missed too many calls.  I think it could be better, but no real complaints.

My opinion of the phone in general.  It's ok.  It's a BIG change for me stepping down from an android smart phone on a plan to basically a "dumb phone".  It is rather nice though because I don't feel like I have to always be checking facebook, and twitter, and google+, etc.  I can only check them when I have wifi on my old phone.

Battery life isn't too bad unless you talk a lot!  I always have a charger handy, some customers can get long winded. If  I just have short calls though my battery usually lasts at least 1 day sometimes almost 2 before it has to be recharged.  There have been a few times I have had to charge it  during the day. (Those are good days right? :-) )

I DO like the blue back lit QWERTY keypad.  It's great for the letters, but the symbols and numbers, that are orange, you can't see at all in the dark.  If you have bigger fingers, it may be harder to use the keypad.

Would I recommend AT&T Cell Phone service?  So far, yes.  I haven't had any real problems, and the local person (the one I know) has been more than helpful and has been able to answer my questions and concerns with confidence.

Would I recommend the Alcatel Phone?  Yes.  It is good for texting and calling. If you want more than that.....don't bother.  It's no smart phone, but so far it's doing what we need it to do.  It's saving us money, and that is an big thing these days.

I didn't buy my phone from Amazon, I got it from the local Cellular Store.  This is the one I have (amazon link if you click the picture).

Homemaking Meme

Sandra tagged me in a Homaking Meme.  It was good timing for me when I seen her post this morning because because yesterday was one messed up, stressful day for me.  I don't choose to tag anyone, but if you read this post consider yourself tagged.  Just copy the meme questions from my blog and post it on yours, answer the questions, and tag your friends if you wish.  You don't have to tag anyone, you are more than welcome to just play along, but do let me know so that I can come and read yours too.  Thank you Sandra for tagging me, it made my day. :-D

Aprons - Y/N If Y what does your favorite look like?
Apron?  What's that?  No I hardly ever wear one.

Baking - Favorite thing to bake?
I like to make cookies.  Chocolate Chip and Sugar Cookies.  Sometimes Banana Bread too.  Usually it's Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Clothesline - Y/N
YES! YES! YES!  I love, love, love my clothesline, even though I don't get to use it.  I used to use it all the time, like every day I did laundry that it didn't rain, and when it was too cold or raining I used a line inside.  When we lived in the apartment hubby got me a big drying rack and that's what we used.  Oh how I missed the outdoors smell.  LOL!  Now we are back at the house, but we work so much it's just easier to toss the clothes in the dryer before I go to bed.  *sigh*  Maybe some day......

Donuts - Have you ever made them?
Only if deep frying refrigerator biscuits and putting cinnamon sugar or powder sugar on them counts.   Yes I make holes in them.  LOL!  I guess when I worked at Hardees.....we used to take the cinnamon & raisin biscuits, make a hole in the middle and deep fry those and put the glaze on them.  I worked the all night shift on the weekends and we would make them and give them to the cops that came through the drive-thru in the wee morning hours.  Brownie points  ;-)

Everyday - One homemaking thing you do everyday?
Feed and water the cats.

Freezer - Do you have a separate deep freeze?
I used to back when the boys were little.  Now I don't.  We hardly eat at home anymore.  Maybe some day I can have a smaller one.  Don't want/need a big one like I had before.

Garbage Disposal - Y/N
No, and I don't miss the one in the apartment either.  I hated that thing, but it was handy since I couldn't just run outside and toss food scraps in the compost bin or in the yard for the birds/bugs.

Handbook - What is your favorite homemaking resource?
um......reading other homemaker's blogs.

Ironing - Love it or hate it?
Iron?  Somewhere I have one, but no ironing board and I haven't ironed much at all if anything in probably 26 years at least.  LOL!

Junk drawer- Y/N - Where is it?
which one?  Ever drawer in the computer desk is a junk drawer, and there are several other drawers around the house that are for nothing but random stuff.

Kitchen - Color and decorating scheme?
My current kitchen?  It's better to show pictures than to try and describe my kitchen.  I think I have the most awesomest kitchen ever! These are old pictures.  The 4th wall was yellow, but it has since been painted white (by the friend we let live there)

Love - What is your favorite part of homemaking?
Not sure.  I guess the feeling or having a clean house and clean, folded, put away laundry, and a made bed to crawl into.  This doesn't happen very often, but when it does it is a feeling of a HUGE accomplishment.

Mop - Y/N
No.  The only floor I have to mop is the bathroom, and it's small enough I just use the cleaning wet wipes and my foot to go over the floor.

Nylons - Wash by hand or in washing machine?
Tights and (it think they are called) trouser socks in the winter and they go in the wash with everything else.

Oven - Do you use the window to check on things or do you open the door?
It depends on the stove.  The one I have now doesn't have a window or light so I have to open the door and depend on the not so bright kitchen and my nose.  If I had a light and window, then yes for most things just peeking in is ok.  Sometimes I cook by smell though.

Pizza - What do you put on yours?
Depends on what we are in the mood for.  We ALWAYS  have to have a cheese.  Then whatever sounds good.  We make chicken club pizza often (chicken, onion, tomato, ranch) but the best one (which is expensive to make) was hubby's french dip pizza that he created for Christmas last year.

Quiet - What do you do during the day when you get a quiet moment?
Depends on where I am and what resources I have available.  Usually the only quiet time I have is when I'm sleeping though.  LOL!

Recipe Card Box - Y/N
Not a box, but a 3-ring binder with a bunch of loose papers and some actually put in, and a couple favorite recipe books with my personal notes and modifications written in.

Style of house
Well, I like simple, old fashioned vintage look, but mine is just a mix of random stuff, nothing like I would *like* it to look like.

Tablecloth and napkins - Y/N
 No and No

Under the kitchen sink - Organized or toxic wasteland?
More like a toxic wasteland. I had it set up to put the litter box under there, but I've since changed boxes and this one is too tall to fit under the sink.  SO....the door is still off and I now keep the extra box(es) of litter and the scoop under there

Vacuum -  How many times per week?
Depends on how much gets tracked in.  Maybe once a week if I'm lucky.

Wash - How many loads per week?
Minimum of 2.  Load of clothes and a loaf of towels.

X's - Do you make a daily to do list and check it off as you do things?
Mentally yes. Every now and then I make a list.

Yard - Y/N - Who does what?
Yes we have a yard!  :-)  Hubby currently mows the yard.  I take pictures of the flowers.

Zzz's - What is the last homemaking task you do for the day before you go to bed?
Last thing I usually do is feed and water the cats.

Happy Homemaker Monday ~~ 7/14/2014

Start: 3:15pm

Today's weather..... High of 95 low of 56.  We have a cold front coming in this afternoon that is also supposed to bring rain.

Right now I am.... taking a break.  Been doing stuff most of the day.

On my Kindle... I finished reading The Brethren (Annie's People Book #3) .   I read Amish Neighbor Volume One: Becoming Amish, and am currently reading Dear America: A Journey to the New World. I know this is a kids book, and I think I've read it before, when the boys were little (but not to them, why would they want to read a girls diary?  LOL!).  I have already learned some things, so it can't be all bad. ;-)

On the menu this past week......  Lets see.....This past week I have made

  • Beef short ribs with BBQ sauce, fried corn, and sauteed onions & mushrooms.
  • Spaghetti & garlic bread
  • [cheap] steak with sauteed onions & mushrooms
  • Egg Sandwiches

On the Radio....  "Electric Avenue"

TV on my Computer..... Switched at Birth this week!  You can watch it at 7 central on ABC Family.  If you don't get ABC Family, you can watch last week's episode HERE  I usually Watch on "vidbul" , and  I highly recommend AdBlock via Chrome Extension if you are going to watch online episodes.  I got an "eye-full" this week  AdBlock seems to do the trick and prevents pop-ups.  You can enable it and disable it as needed.

Yesterday I started watching Civil Love on Hulu.  I finished it just the afternoon.

What I found while surfing the net....  Just house looking, still.

On my to do list at home tonight.... Going to go look at a commercial building.  The realtor called and the building is under contract.  *sigh*  SO I made an appointment to go look at #2 and #3 choices for a house.  #1 choice is under contract.

Looking forward to this week.... Now I"m not sure......We do have someone who is interested in the land we have for sale.  Hubby will be meeting them out there tomorrow night to make sure they were in the right place the other day.  LOL!

Thinking and Pondering..... Not much right now

As I look outside the window..... right now the sun is shining.  There is a breeze.  There are  few cars parked on Main Street, and the traffic is picking up as many are getting off work.

Looking around the house.... Oh, please, don't look!  It is still a mess!

From the camera.......   New duct tape accessory for my kindle.......which is long and wide enough that a stylus clips on on the inside of one end perfectly.

that matches the other 2 I made a while back, a pouch for my old phone (now a tablet) and a one for my ear buds and paypal swipe thing.

On my prayer list.....
  • Business decisions
  • quick cleaning out of the old house
  • quick selling of  our vacant lot in the country  (the realtor won't list it so we are selling it by owner)
  • getting old house cleaned out quickly
  • The house we live in now to sell quickly when we do get it put on the market
  • Finding the perfect house/location to move to

Better day today

Even with the pity party last night I got quite a bit accomplished. I got all the dishes washed except the few we used. I got a load of laundry washed and dried. I vacuumed the floors, and I finished reading the book I mentioned in my HHM post this week.  

It's Rubbish!

Do you ever feel like just throwing up your hands and giving up? That's me right now. I'm having myself a little pity party tonight.  You know the "everybody hates me, nobody likes me, I guess I'll go to the garden and eat worms. Big fat juicy ones, little nitty skinny ones, even the ones that squirm."

I know that's total rubbish. I have people who love me and like me, and yes even some haters I'm sure.

Happy Homemaker Monday ~~ 7/7/14

Start:10:26am

The weather..... 97* for the high today.....that means a heat index over 100* I'm sure.  Looks like this week is going to be hot and humid.

Right now I am.... Sitting on the stool at the POS computer (main computer at the shop),  listening to the radio playing, the lights hum, and the AC running.  I  have my mocha right beside me.

On my Kindle... I'm almost finished reading  The Brethren (Annie's People Book #3) .  I will be looking for a new book probably later today.  I think I will look for something non-Amish this time.  Any recommendations?

On the menu today...... I think I will just do today's menu because the weekly thing may get boring with me always saying "I dunno"  LOL!  SO.....Today for breakfast Hubby and I each ate an orange, and I have my mocha.  Lunch will either be McDonalds or Braums.  Supper we are meeting friends at a steak & sushi place.  I'm not real sure about eating there, I can be rather picky when it comes to food.

On the Radio....right now Heaven by Warrent is playing

TV on my Computer..... Switched at Birth this week!  You can watch it at 7 central on ABC Family. Also I found a goldmine this week.  It isn't really a NEW site, but one I have had bookmarked and not looked at or used much.  Project Free TV is amazing!  Movies and TV shows and TV series.  WOW!  I need more time now!  LOL!  Again I recommend using the AdBlock extension on Chrome to prevent the pop-ups.

What I found while surfing the net.... Besides re-discovering Project Free Tv, not much surfing this past week except looking for housing on Zillow and the realtors where we plan to move and/or commercial locations.  We are down to 5 months to keep within our goal.  I did have an idea, brain fart maybe, and went to look for a property I'd seen previously and wasn't all that interested because it was a rural property and the boy doesn't drive.  He would be isolated for the most part since it was several miles to town.  Going to Zillow and clicking on the property I *thought* was it, turns out it wasn't, but I found a property that seems perfect. Just a smidge out of our price range, BUT it's been on the market for some time so maybe they will make a deal with us.

On my to do list at home tonight....
wash the few dishes left over from eating at home yesterday
sweep floors
do some laundry

Looking forward to this week.... not sure, actually.  Nothing exciting as of yet anyway.  LOL!

Thinking and Pondering..... on the new house discovery.  Is it the right one for us?  I think I will call the realtor and see if we can make an appointment to see it next week.  Also I will post a post later this week with all out fireworks.  Mostly it's smoke bomb pictures.  But I also have the City's grand finale on video.  It was astonishing!  They really outdone themselves this year for the finale.

As I look outside the window..... The sun is shining bright as it heats things up out there!  There is a slight breeze, which helps a lot.  There are several cars parked on main street.  One BIG truck in front of our door, so I can't see much else.  LOL!  Currently no one in the shop, but we have had several customers in and out already this morning.

Looking around the house.... Oh, please, don't look!  It is a mess!  I really need to take the time to straighten things up and vacuum the floor.

From the camera....... This little guy decided he was going to church with us.  I did shoo him out the window though, so he didn't make it all the way there.

On my prayer list.....
  • My grandpa (he's 95 years old now)
  • My sister
  • My Uncle T
  • My Mom
  • Business decisions
  • quick cleaning out of the old house
  • quick selling of  our vacant lot in the country  (the realtor won't list it so we are selling it by owner)
  • getting old house cleaned out quickly
  • The house we live in now to sell quickly when we do get it put on the market
  • Finding the perfect house/location to move to
  • My Reecie Kitty
