Tunisian Honeycomb Stocking Hat Bottom Up In The Round (Adult Size)

Here's my basic instructions to make this hat

I used redheart favorite stripes for my main color and white for my return color

Double End "I" hook,

2 colors of yarn

chain 80

Without twisting, join to make a circle TSS around using DE hook to make return stitch. (80)

Use whatever "ribbing" stitch you would like for 2 inches (6 rows for me),  I used the rib stitch for this hat.  On last row Return stitch through both loops on the last 2 stitches. (79 stitches on the last row)  This makes the odd number required for the honeycomb stitch.

Start the honeycomb stitch and continue for a total hat height of about 6".

Increase 1 stitch on the last row of your honeycomb stitch. (back to 80 stitches)

Using TSS, tss the first 6 stitches then  the 7th and 8th stitches together continue around.

continue decreasing until you have a small opening (4-6 stitches) at the top.  Cut your yarns and put them inside the hat.  Turn it wrong side oud and use the return color, continue going in the same direction and run it through the loops.  Pull it tight and tie the 2 ends together.

Mine curled  so I crocheted a single row of single crochet around the bottom.

My hat measured right around 8" tall

Very basic instructions I know.  If you have any questions please ask.

Tunisian Crochet Alien Cross Stitch

(originally posted September 7, 2021 on my old blog)

You will need to have basic knowledge of how to make the tunisian simple stitch, single crochet stitch, how to read a graph and basic cross stitch.

I used lily sugar and cream black and green. I used a normal sized “I” or 5.5mm crochet hook. You don’t need a long hook, just one with no cover on it. Yarn and hook size is up to you. Gauge is irrelevant for this project.

Chain 19 so you have 19 loops on your hook. TSS a total of 16 rows. Make 2 squares. I used this alien graph I found on Pinterest.

I left 2 rows before and after the cross stitch on both the top and bottom and 4 vertical bars, not counting the first and last “chain” on both sides.

I single crocheted around the edges putting 2 sc in the last loop and first loop of each side to give the corners a rounded look. The other loops have 1 stitch.

I’m not very good with written instructions, so if you have trouble understanding what I’m trying to say you can watch my YouTube Video where I describe what I’m trying to say here. 👽

Tunisian Ladder Stitch Washcloth ~~ I made a few modifications

(originally posted January 7, 2021 on my old blog)

I made this Tunisian Ladder Stitch washcloth today. Its the same pattern as my previous post for the dishcloth. I chained 31, and instead of a solid tss row at the bottom I started with the 2tss yo and skip. I think it looks a lot better. I also added a single crochet border around the edge.

edge. As you can see I ran out of yarn with just a few stitches left to go. I really like this stitch for wash/dishcloths.

How To Make a Tunisian Ladder Dishcloth (no curl stitch)

To make this pattern you need a basic knowledge of tunisian simple stitch and how to yarn over.

You need cotton or acrylic yarn (I like to use acrylic for cleaning cloths). Depending on what size you want, one ball (2.5 oz) should be plenty. And a size K or 6.0mm long Tunisian Crochet hook.

Chain 40

Row 1: Tss in each loop across. Normal return

Row 2: tss in first 2 *yarn over skip next vertical bar tss in next 2* repeat from * across ending with 2 tss (before last loop). Normal return

Repeat to desired length.

Tunisian Crochet Cross Stitch Pumpkin Potholder

(originally posted January 13, 2021 on my old blog)

I used this pumpkin pattern I found on pinterest. Cotton yarn and an "I" tunisian crochet hook. You will need to know how to do tunisian simple stitch, single crochet, and a basic knowledge of how to cross stitch.

I made 2 black panels using tss 29 stitches wide by 27 rows. I eliminated the leaf on the stem and made the stem a bit wider to accommodate the space. I used a single crochet around to put both squares together

Tunisian Crochet Cross Stitch Snowman Potholder

(originally posted January 4, 2021 on my old blog)

I used this pixel graph from Repeat Crafter Me for my snowman. I used cotton yarn for this project, and a size "I" tunisian crochet hook.

You will need to know how to do simple tuisian crochet, single crochet, and a basic knowledge of cross stitch.

I made 2 TSS squares (front and back) 27 loops by 27 rows. I centered the cross stitch on the piece. I crocheted the 2 squares together with single crochet.

How I Made This Cute Tunisian Crochet Rag Doll Kitty Kitty

(originally posted January 8, 2021 on my old blog)

SO I was browsing YouTube and a new [tunisian crochet] channel popped up on my suggested videos. Of course I had to check it out. I's not in english and there are no translation via CC available so I did this all on my own by using the above screenshot of the item the creator was talking about. Here's a link to the original video at the timestamp when this cute kitty cat is mentioned.

I made all my pieces with a combination of tunisian simple stitch and regular single crochet.

Here are my "chicken scratch" instructions for what I did. Hope you can understand them. Everything is worked in the round. I used worsted weight yarn, except the nose/mouth and it was a sock or fingering weight yarn. Regular crochet hook sizes F and H, and a size G double end tunisian hook. I also used safety eyes in the center of the eyes. I don't know what size I used as my eyes were gifted and have no sizes with the packages.

Color 1 = Blue and Color 2 = Green for my instructions

Legs/Tail (make 5)

with H crochet hook and Color 1 make 6 SC in a magic loop.

row 2 12 SC

Row 3-12 with G double end tunisian hook TSS

finish off and leave tail for sewing and joining

Body

with H crochet hook and Color 1 chain 14 and work in the round. adding 1 INC stitch in the ends (30) Work a total of 8 rows single crochet

With G double end hook TSS 10 rows

Change back to H hook and work 12 Single crochet rows

finish off and leave tail for sewing and joining
