Some Order in the Living Room

We have been totally moved for a little over a week. The kitchen was the first room I have attempted to organize because it was being used before we were finished moving. It still needs work, and I haven't taken any pictures.

My next room was the living room.  I wanted to have it usable by the weekend because we have a free video rental coupon that we would like to use.  I worked an hour and a half and got some organization to it.  At least now we can sit and watch movies and play games.

Here's the before and the after.  There is still stuff on the table that needs to find a home, and most of the boxes and bags in front of the TV belong to the oldest boy, who has moved out on his own.  You know how it goes....they leave stuff behind.  Those things will be finding a place in the shed soon.

I'm rather excited!   Last time we lived here we didn't have a table.  This time it was a priority.  Eating meals at the table is less messy than sitting in the rocker or recliner, and it gives us a place to play games.

Litter Box Small Space

I looked and looked on pinterest, when we decided we were moving, for clever ways to hide the litter box in a small space. I found several cool ideas. However knowing the house we moved to, because we've lived there before, the cool boxes and cabinets wouldn't work because there isn't enough space.

Then I had a bright idea! The space under the kitchen sink. It isn't usable, in my opinion, except for the trash can and things like bug spray cans. It would be a perfect place for the box. I took off the door on the right side so the girls could get in there. Its perfect!  Eventually I would like to put a curtain there where the door is off.

Since it's kind of enclosed I spray Lysol  (I have this pink can) under the sink, and in the box, as well as on the floor in front of the sink, each time I clean the box.  So far this has been working out great!

We Couldn't Decide Until.......

We couldn't decide where we were moving to until we got permission to finally go into the house and we seen this.  The kitchen.

There is no way that would work especially since we use our kitchen at home to prep some things for the castle.

We moved back into our old house for now. We have been here about a week. I'm still trying to get some organization with the boxes and bags of stuff.

My kitchen is the best looking room but its not finished yet.  It had to be the first room to organize because we needed to use it.

I never want to move again!

Happy Homemaker Monday ~~ 2/17/014

You know, even though I'm not a SAHM I'm still a homemaker.  I have a family to take care of and a home that should be kept it neat and clean.  I do also have the responsibility of 2 businesses to keep neat and clean, and a multitude of customers to care for as well.  Wow!  So....I've decided Happy Homemaker Monday,is all about my home AND my businesses.  They are where I spend my time, with my family none the less, 24 hours a day.

The weather.....   Warmer and Windy.  I think temperatures are supposed to range from the low 50's up to 60 or so over the next 10 days unless a cold front sneaks in.  I hope not! I'm ready for summer.

Right now I am.... I'm so tired, It's going to be a fight to stay awake until bedtime tonight (and I just got up not too long ago)

On my Kindle.... I've read several short stories by Wanda Brunsetter, I'm currently on #5 out of 6 in the series.  Each book is about 60 or so pages long.  SO far I've read (in order)
  Currently reading this last one

On the Radio.... Absolutely nothing.  It's quiet in here except for the heater running and the hum of the florescent lights.

TV on my Computer.....  ABC's Switched at Birth some time this week on my computer.  I have also been watching Call the Midwife.

What I found while surfing the net.... I haven't been looking much lately.

On my to do list this week....
[at the lock/incense shop this week:]
  1. sweep
  2. dust
  3. clean the glass cases
  4. add products to Mythril Security
  5. Take pictures for things to sell on E-Bay
[ for Cosmic Castle this week:]
  1. We are closed on Monday's, and open regular hours the rest of the week
  2. Tonight (Monday) we will make the Chicken N Noodles (from scratch to serve Tuesday evening) and homemade cookies
  3. Wednesday Morning I count inventory
  4. Thursday is truck day
[at home this week:]
Oh dear I don't even know where to start here!  Moving and working and not skipping a beat isn't easy.  We still have stuff to move out of the apartment tonight.  I HAVE to make chicken noodles tonight for tomorrow, I have to go to the dollar store and get some things to clean the house, there are piles of bags and stuff everywhere in the house we moved into.  Laundry that needs done, things to put away, the house to clean in general (it wasn't cleaned before we moved in *sigh*) Cable hooked up for internet. Cell phone plans to cancel.   Anyone want to come help?

In the craft basket.... not even sure where the yarn is right now.

Looking forward to this week....  Getting things organized. Getting caught up on sleep. Warmer temperatures.

Looking around the house.... Please don't look right now.

From the camera.......

The last morning in the apartment.....everyone's tails are curved the same direction.

On my prayer list.....
  • My grandpa (he's 94 years old)
  • My sister
  • Business decisions
  • Tuesday night to be successful
  • SUMMERTIME to get here
  • being able to cook on an electric stove and not burn things.  (I hate electric stoves)

I asked HE Answered

Things  just don't seem to be panning out for me/us right now.  WE're in crunch time we HAVE to move, we really have no place to move to.  Well we do, but it's not fit for living in.  I told God last night  that I was confused and wanted to know what we were supposed to do.  My answer.....a song wr used to sing in church when I was little.  I haven't heard or sung this song in probably 30 years.  Good answer.  Trust Him.  Not exactly the answer I was wanting to get, but I guess it's better than the answer I wanted.

[im]patiently waiting

WOW!  Where did the week go?  It's Friday already.  This week has been cold, icy and snowy.  Finally we are warming up a little.

This past week I have started reading On Being Sarah .  It's about a young girl with cerebral palsy.  I learned about Blissymbols.  Way cool stuff.  I'm about half way though and should finish it this weekend I hope.

I have also been watching Call The Midwife.

All this while [im]patiently waiting for word on when we get to move.  I received a letter from the lawyer today about the house, and called them.  They seem to think we should be able to move in by next weekend.  If not we are going to have to move into our old house.....with the mold and falling in ceiling until we can find or get something different. *sigh*  I'm confident though that all is good and we will be moving next weekend into the house I acquired from a friend upon her death.  She will be missed but she was an amazing person.  She was our neighbor and loved in the house next door to us (that was 2 houses ago).  We actually wanted to buy that house 18 years ago but couldn't afford the $5000  they were asking for it.  It was a fixer upper and we were wanting to adjoin it to our house for an even bigger house.  Well.......18 years later I may be getting to move into it.  If we do it will give us a double lot.

Ok off to watch another episode of Call The Midwife.  Thank you Sandra over at Diary of a Stay At Home Mom for the link and recommendation.  I've been enjoying this show. :-D

Happy Homemaker Monday ~~ 2/3/14

happyhomemakermonday
You know, even though I'm not a SAHM I'm still a homemaker.  I have a family to take care of and a home that should be kept it neat and clean.  I do also have the responsibility of 2 businesses to keep neat and clean, and a multitude of customers to care for as well.  Wow!  So....I've decided Happy Homemaker Monday,is all about my home AND my businesses.  They are where I spend my time, with my family none the less, 24 hours a day.

It's been a while since I've posted a HHM.  I have a few extra minutes right now, so why not?

The weather.....   I DO NOT LIKE IT!  There is a thin layer of ice still in some places from the other day.  Tonight and tomorrow we have a winter storm warning for 4"-6" of snow, with blowing and drifting.  *sigh*  And 6 more weeks of this winter stuff?  Thanks Phil.......

Right now I am.... I'm sitting here, cold, chewing gum and drinking some pepsi.

On my Kindle.... I just finished reading, late last night, Boys For Sale (Book 1): A Novel about Human Trafficking .  I knew what the book was about, it was good, I couldn't put it down, but it disgusted me.  It's the story of Tavi (and a few other boys) who's parents were poor.  The boys were sold into human trafficking, by a deceiving person, who promised them money and that the boys would receive a good education and job training.  The book is written from Tavi's point of view as he endures unpleasant things.  It does have a happy ending though, and a few twists and turns.  Most human trafficking I have heard about are girls, sadly enough it's both boys and girls.  With that said, I've got the kindle on the charger and will be looking for a book to read soon.

On the Radio.... Absolutely nothing.  It's quiet in here except for the heater running.

TV on my Computer.....  ABC's Switched at Birth tomorrow on my computer, no time to watch it tonight.  I have also been watching Call the Midwife.

What I found while surfing the net.... I have been looking for and pinning small space storage ideas on Pinterest.

On my to do list this week.... [at the lock/incense shop this week:]
  1. sweep
  2. dust
  3. clean the glass cases
  4. add products to Mythril Security

  2. Tonight (Monday) we will make the Chicken N Noodles (from scratch to serve Tuesday evening) and homemade cookies
  3. Wednesday Morning I count inventory
  4. Thursday is truck day
[at home this week:]
  1. work on laundry
  2. try to do a little each night to keep place clean
  3. keep dishes washed
In the craft basket.... nothing

Looking forward to this week....  well.....maybe be getting a different house.  Our old house we are just going to sell.  If this other house falls though I guess we will be buying a house instead.  Sure not looking forward to the snow!

Looking around the house....
The kitchen needs a little clean up.  it's cold up there.  I moved the chairs and TV into the entryway and we closed off the 2 front rooms.  I think that's helping keep it warmer.

From the camera.......
someone was snoring.......

On my prayer list.....
  • My grandpa (he's 94 years old)
  • My sister
  • Business decisions
  • Tuesday night to be successful despite the snow we're supposed to be getting
  • we are able to move soon
  • SUMMERTIME to get here
