So Pretty....and Smelly

So this WAS an electric warmer....but the electric part was faulty when we got it.  The company said "Keep it" and replaced it with another one.  I cut off the cord and decided to use a tea light candle under it.  This worked good until I added oil to it [that was cold] after it was already heated up and smelling good.  I cracked the dish.  ðŸ˜§  Now the oil drips slowly onto the candle below.  It seems to work ok for now.  Eventually though I bet I will have to toss it or find a new dish.  Today I had lilac warming and I added some vanilla-grapefruit.

It has cooled off and therefore has gotten cooler upstairs.  I know I haven't kept you up to date on that, but thankfully it wasn't a long super hot summer.  I think maybe overall we weren't able to cope with the heat for a week total.  Other than that 2 fans and 2 windows open kept us cool.  We had a portable AC for about a week, but it was putting off more heat than it was cool air.  We ditched it after a few days.

Even Fuzzy thinks it's too cold.  This has been her normal sleeping place the past couple nights it has been down near or below freezing.
Sorry if it's hard to see but it's not easy to take a video in the dark.  LOL!

We have done a little winterizing though.  I will share that soon.

Thanks for stopping by and reading!

Almost Finished

The tunisian crochet shawl I have been working on all year long.....I'm almost finished.  I have 1 more ball of yarn left after the one sitting there.    When this picture was taken I had 15 rows left.  I have hooked a few since taking the picture.  I have been averaging just short of 5 rows per ball of yarn.  I have a few more of increase 4, then it drops back to increase 2 to finish it off.  It's going to be close, if I have enough. If not I will just finish it off where I'm out of yarn and call it done.  No one will know unless I tell them, right?

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this yarn!  I decided to try the ICE brand yarn, and actually got this on sale in January I think.  This color is no longer available though.  Can't wait to gift it for Christmas!  The person should be super excited!

Other than the few rows I have accomplished on this the past few weeks (of my absence of posting) there has been a lot going on.  Seems like this time of year is busy anyway, but add to it selling a house and trying to get it cleaned out.  We almost have what we want out of it.

The more I hear.....

The more I see and hear from successful or semi-successful youtube vloggers I realize maybe I shouldn't daily vlog.  Some of the daily vlogs I watch I can understand why the "trolls" taunt them and do and say the things they do.  Others I just don't get it.  I guess these "trolls" are just jealous and have nothing better to do with their time than pick at others and make fun of them and bad mouth them.  Yes I know it happens with blogging too, I have seen several "troll blogs" from blogs I used to read.  Same way....some I can understand why it's done, but others I just didn't.

SO on to prettier things......I haven't shown any crochet projects since July :-O  These are in no particular order......

This is my first attempt at a tunisian tapestry project.  It was a challenge for me for sure!  I made this for a friend who is a huge batman fan.

Tunisian knit/purl stitches stocking cap.  It looks knit but it's really crochet.  I really like how this one turned out.

Tunisian ripple scarf.  Second one I have made.  The first one you can see here in progress.  I traded the first one for this yarn.  I think I got the better end of the deal. ;-)

I issued a twiddlemuff challenge to the crochet group I host.  I finished mine, finally.  Monday Oct. 31 is the last day for it.  I don't particularly care for this one, but I'm happy that it will be given to a young person who has ADD/ADHD etc.  Hopefully this will help with some of the anxieties this younger person has.

Not much shawl progress.  I am about 70% done with it.  I'm afraid I will run out of yarn before I'm 100% done.  Oh well, no one will know but me, right?

This is another tunisian knit/purl stitch stocking cap.  I call this the "watermelon hat"  LOL!

Why haven't I made this sooner?  I only have 1 and would like to make at least one more.  Absolutely amazing!  No more burning my hands because I "forget" and grab the handle without a potholder.  No more bulky potholder sitting on the handle or being in my way.

Something else I have done is proven to myself that (at least with this pattern) I can use a knit pattern with knit/purl stitches and create it with a tunisian hook.  I didn't finish this it was just an experiment.  I hope to do more of this in the future.  I love the knit look.....without the knitting needles.

Ok I best get busy.....

and guess what......

that plan hasn't happened for making youtube videos, except for the one I posted about in my last post.  I just can't do it!  I have made a few videos for our business, Cosmic Castle, and posted them to that page.  The popular one is making homemade chicken noodle soup, which we serve often.

Ok off to do something else.  Crochet isn't on the agenda today.  It hasn't been for several days now.  Too much else to do right now.

I Have a Plan

Finally, for YouTube.  I'm not comfortable with telling all and putting my face for the world to see.  SO I have decided to make yarn art videos aka crochet videos.  I'm no professional but I do like to crochet.  Especially Tunisian Crochet.  Go check out my most recent video, I just finished a project.

Coffee Time Video

I've been trying so many different apps and programs and all trying to get something, even with minimal options, that is free to edit videos on that doesn't leave a 3rd party watermark or not sync voice and video.  Trust me it's been a challenge.  I made one work for me today, and added a new video to my  YouTube Channel.  Here's to many more successful video editing adventures.  I hope anyway.  LOL!

I'm still here

I haven't posted in a month, but I am still here.  I have shared a couple new youtube videos.  Go check them out here.  I'm convinced I'm going to get rich off youtube.  LOL!  Ok maybe not, but once I get over my being shy on the camera maybe I will be posting more there.  It is easier to do that than sit and type a post.  I have an app on my phone that I can put together all the clips and post directly to youtube.  nothing fancy yet.....maybe some day though.  AND if you want to see why I've been so busy you can watch THIS VIDEO.  It should explain everything :-)
